Sailfish Anglers Cast Their Line at the Upcoming

17th Annual AT&T Jeb Bush Florida Classic

FORT LAUDERDALE — November 15, 2012.  Cast your line at this year’s AT&T JEB BUSH Florida Classic sailfish tournament and compete against others to reel in the big one! Sponsored by The Wasie Foundation and presented by Ford and Premier Beverage, the event benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and takes place November 29-December 1, 2012 at the Hyatt Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale. This exciting event features three days of fun-filled sporting and social events that attract prominent businesses, charitable benefactors, and sports enthusiasts from around South Florida and across the country.

Festivities kick off on Thursday, Nov. 29 with the annual Angler Welcome Party and CaptainsMeeting followed by a two day sailfish fishing tournament which starts on Friday, November 30. Anglers and captains will enjoy a cocktail reception on Friday, November 30 plus an evening filled with delicious cuisine from a variety of local restaurants preparing their favorite signature dishes. Other highlights include a fashion show hosted by Pango Pango Swimwear and an exciting FightingChair Competition with high-profile celebrity athletes. The event will culminate with a formal awards reception and silent auction the evening of December 1, Saturday.

Since its inception 17 years ago, the AT&T JEB BUSH Florida Classic has netted more than $5.6 million, helping to fund the Foundation’s cutting-edge research and top-quality care and leading to the development of new drug therapies and an increase in median life expectancy for CF patients. Much of the success in raising funds for cystic fibrosis falls in the hands of our generous sponsors, our Co-Chairpersons Michele Renick, John Nigro and Wade Davis, along with our devoted committee members and countless volunteers.
